The International Fair of Machines, Raw Materials and Accessories for the Furniture Industry (FIMMA Brasil) 2019 turned the optimism of the 380 exhibitors and 23,657 visitors into good business, from March 26 to 29, at Parque de Eventos in Bento Gonçalves (RS).

Differentiation, this year’s motto of the show, provided opportunities for connections, knowledge and good surprises. The FIMMA Workshop, with a new format, ensured excellent public, as in the case of the Arqday Space, one of the new initiatives this fair that aimed to attract specifiers. The expertise of the lecturers taking part in the traditional FIMMA Joiner project enabled the sharing of information. The new segments, Forestry and Stones, surprised by the numerous possibilities for the use of the available raw materials.

The presence of global key players and the significant number of new exhibitors brought together in the 58,000-m² exhibit floor reaffirmed the credibility and tradition of the fifth largest fair in the world in its segment. A breakdown of the participating exhibitors show that 32% displayed machines, 20% raw materials, 18% tools, 15% accessories, 10% components and 5% of other products. "The result of FIMMA Brasil 2019 reflects months of intense work striving for excellence in each of the planned actions, bringing what was most representative in the woodworking industry. And the result could not have been better, we managed to materialize the differentiation motto, surprising everyone who attended the fair," rejoices the president of the 14th FIMMA Brasil, Henrique Tecchio.

One of its most consolidated projects, the Buyer’s Project, in two days held 1,100 business meetings, generating transactions of approximately $ 3 million and the forecast of $ 15 million generated in the next 12 months. The presence of thousands of people in Bento Gonçalves also yielded around RS 15 million for the city businesses, including hotels, restaurants, transportation, wineries and many other sectors. Given its good results, the initial estimate of $ 290 million has been confirmed.

New date in 2021
Organized by the sector focusing the sector itself, FIMMA Brasil 2019 has shown that it is aware of the demands of those in charge of the success of the fair, that is, exhibitors and visitors. Thus, the president of the 14th FIMMA Brasil announced that in 2021 the event will take place in August. "We gave a voice to exhibitors, businessmen and professionals who visit FIMMA Brasil and after a careful analysis we decided to change the month of the fair.
